People have a special relationship with watches.

At one level, they are practical objects; instruments that tell the time, or sit quietly on the wrist as part of how we present ourselves. But that explanation only goes so far.

At another level, watches form a deep emotional connection. They sit against our skin. We can feel and sometimes hear their small, steady heartbeats as they accompany us through our lives. They quietly mark our moments, absorb our routines, and store our memories. They ask for care and attention, and in return they keep going. A few moments of winding can give a watch many hours of life.

Watches are among a rare group of objects that accumulate meaning simply through use.

That relationship, however, carries a tension. The more a watch is worn and loved, the more time leaves its mark. Use leads to wear. Surfaces age, details soften, damage can occur. To preserve a watch in perfect condition often means denying it the very purpose it was made for.

Resurfaced exists within that tension.

We work with watches that have been damaged, neglected, or have drifted out of relevance. The purpose is not to hide the past, but to celebrate it and give them a renewed presence. Through hand-painted art, we restore pride, invite continued use, and allow the relationship between owner, object, and time to evolve rather than end.
