The story
This beautiful, clean and large dialled citizen had taken a large chip out of the dial near the 5 marker. The surface of the dial was almost like porcelain, so the intial idea was a simple blue and white floral and bird design, however this was changed following a visit to a garden in seeing the beautiful reds of the acers which evoked the autumnal colors that are seen during a season celebrated in japan almost to the level of Sakura in spring. The delicate shades of orange, scarlets, light and deep reds in the leaves are contrasted with the blue of the flycatcher bird, native to Japan. This gives a subtle but vibrant visual contrast while complementing the clarity of the remainder of the dial.
