Koi Tattoo Blue

The story

The Omega Geneve line of watches represents a harmonious blend of elegance and precision, embodying the rich heritage of Swiss watchmaking. Launched in the 1960s, this collection was designed to offer a more accessible luxury option while maintaining the high standards of craftsmanship and reliability that Omega is renowned for. The Geneve watches are characterized by their classic designs, featuring clean lines, refined dials, and a variety of styles that cater to both casual and formal occasions.

This vintage Omega Genevre from the 1960s to early 1970s had developed quite prominent oxidation which formed in a swirl around the centre of the dial.

This oxidisation had the appearance of a wave, which (along with Omega's seafaring heritage) inspired the fish design.

Blue and White was chosen as a color for the design due to the original dial painting experiment, while the design itself, of a large fish swimming in the ocean, is based on a tattoo style, inspired by naval tattoos.
