Tigers have a remarkable presence about them. Powerful and confident, they seem to move through their environment with a quiet certainty, as though they know exactly where they belong.

This piece was inspired by that sense of confidence. Rather than depicting a tiger in motion or in the middle of a hunt, I wanted to capture a more composed moment; a direct gaze, a calm posture, and the feeling of an animal completely at ease in its own domain.

The watch is based on a Merkur tourbillon, whose exposed movement already creates a sense of theatre and occasion. The tiger was painted to work alongside that mechanical centrepiece, allowing the artwork and movement to share the dial without competing for attention.

To complete the piece, the design extends onto the strap through a hand-painted tiger pattern. This was intended to create a more unified object, carrying the character of the tiger beyond the dial itself and giving the watch a more regal, almost ceremonial presence on the wrist.
