Pointillist Fuji

The Highness is one of Citizen's vintage jewels; a premium version of the Leopard; hi-beat and more refined. these aren't easy to get. The gold case and sunburst dial are classic 1970s style. Painting such a watch is challenging due to the effect the paint has on the dial so the pointillist technique minimises streaking but also allows the dial effect to shine through, almost allowing two visuals to coexist in the same small space. For such a special watch, the obvious choice is to take the revered Mt Fuji, and explore the colors and atmosphere of the iconic landmark. The dot-effect also allows a good range of colors without being too dominant, which complements the gold case.
