Reef diver

Reef Diver focuses on the world beneath the surface — a place full of colour, movement and structure that most people never actually see. Coral reefs feel peaceful from a distance, but up close they’re busy, layered ecosystems where fish weave through pockets of light and shadow. The artwork tries to capture that sense of life and complexity in a very small space, using stacked tones of blue, green and warm coral to suggest depth without overloading the dial.

The reef forms a ledge-like structure, giving the composition something solid to anchor to while leaving space above for movement and light. It’s not a decorative version of the ocean, but a simplified snapshot of how a reef feels when you’re close to it: textured, bright and full of motion.

Reefs are also changing. Around the world, many are shrinking or bleaching as waters warm, storms intensify and coastal environments shift. You don’t need statistics to understand the trend — anyone who has visited the same reef years apart knows how quickly colour and life can fade. This artwork isn’t a warning, but it acknowledges that what we see here is something precious, and increasingly rare in its full vibrancy.

Reef Diver is a small tribute to that underwater world at its best — a reminder of how alive these habitats are, and how easily their character can be lost.
