Strawberries

The beautiful double textured dial had taken a lot of jarring damage in the top left area. This is a difficult place to compose from as most designs work best when arranged in the lower half or assymetrically on one side. The decision was to choose a hanging fruit (like grapes) but the colors of the grapes may have been too muted for the watch. Eventually the choice was to have a strawberry plant; strawberries symbolise love, sexuality, and change. The design includes all stages of the strawberry in the run up to it being edible; the blossom, the green unripe berry and the ripe berry. The wearer can decide if those strawberries are captured in their prime and preserved, or allowed to go on uneaten, decay and perhaps seed again.
